Welcome to the 6th Annual
Selects 2005
Evaluation Showcase
The
Selects Evaluation Showcase is now entering its 6th year, and
has achieved unparalleled success since its inception. Many
players have used the Selects camp as the stepping stone to
their hockey future in both junior and college hockey. And
that’s exactly the purpose of the Camp: to provide the
opportunity for you to secure your hockey future. The Selects
camp provides exposure to NAHL, USHL and Jr.A & Jr. B leagues.
Here are two examples of just how critical the Complete
Hockey’s Selects camp can be to your future:
SELECTS PRODUCES NAHL 2004 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR The NAHL’s
2004 Rookie of the Year—Brian Bicek—secured his junior hockey
opportunity with the NAHL’s Cleveland Barons through his
performance at the Selects 2003 camp.
As the leading scorer of 2003’s camp, Brian received sincere
interest from several of the junior teams in attendance, which
lead to his selection by Cleveland as their first overall pick
in the NAHL entry draft. Baron’s assistant coach Rob Gagne
served as Brian’s coach at the Selects Camp and witnessed
Brian’s talents at the camp firsthand.
Brian made the most of his opportunity in Cleveland and walked
away with NAHL 2004 Rookie of the Year honors, coming within a
point of leading the entire NAHL in scoring. While in
Cleveland, Brian secured a scholarship to Western Michigan
Univ. where he is a freshman on the varsity hockey team this
season. Without the Selects camp, Brian’s career may have been
over.
SELECTS
SUCCESS STORY LANDS AT NOTRE DAME
Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s 2004 freshman Brain D’Arcy’s
hockey future might have been finished if not for Complete
Hockey’s Selects Evaluation Showcase. After the ’01-’02 season
Brian was unsigned. With one more chance for exposure—through
Selects 2002—Brian had to use his opportunity to impress
scouts. By the end of camp, many teams were in competition for
Brian’s talents. Before leaving the rink on the final day,
Brain received tender offers from 3 different NAHL teams and
chose to sign with the NAHL’s Cleveland Barons. After a year
in Cleveland and a year with the USHL’s Tri-City Storm, Brian
landed his lifelong dream, to play hockey at the University of
Notre Dame.
These are just two stories of Complete Hockey’s Selects
Evaluation Showcases many success. Without the opportunity
provided by the Selects camp, many players would not have
secured their opportunity in junior hockey. For players who
have completed midget and Jr. B seasons, and have not secured
a junior opportunity for next year—Do not give up hope!!
Selects provides you the opportunity to get you to the next
step.

A
LETTER FROM
CAMP DIRECTOR
Larry Pedrie
It has
been my pleasure for 5 years now to offer the best
evaluation camp available to aspiring junior
hockey players. The Selects camp has presented
many deserving players with junior hockey
opportunities that they would otherwise not have
gained. As you read through the list of past
players, and the coaches who have come to recruit
and see them play, no other camp

can match the past success of
Selects. I have spent my entire life in hockey, and have
built a personal reputation based upon experience,
knowledge, professionalism, and honesty. I have had the
pleasure of spending 15 years in college hockey, with 6 of
those years as a Division I head coach. I was also
fortunate enough to spend three years at the University of
Michigan as a part of Red Berenson’s staff and play a
significant role in the resurgence of the Michigan hockey
program. Following my years in college hockey, I was
presented with an opportunity to serve as an advance scout
for the Chicago Blackhawks

for 4 years. Each of these
experiences has allowed me to build relationships
throughout the elite levels of hockey, and in turn, these
relationships can now assist in the advancement of the
careers of young hockey players. I am in daily
conversation with junior coaches, and have a constant feel
for the pulse of junior hockey in North America.
Junior hockey is the most viable route to college hockey,
and I will do whatever I can to assist those deserving
players of achieving their goals. Over the next few months
I will work to secure the commitment of as many junior
teams as possible to attend Selects 2005. Our past history
of coaches who have attended speaks for itself, and we
will look to grow and build on that list for the 2005
camp. Will your name be on next year’s brochure as another
player, who through his performance at Selects, has now
moved on to junior hockey?Sincerely,
Larry Pedrie
Co-Director Selects 2005
